TEMPE, Ariz. — If you’ve already blown your diet this holiday season, we have a unique new workout to help you blast away those Christmas calories. You can actually pedal away the pounds in a fun new workout.

On Monday’s Good Morning Arizona, Heidi Goitia checked out “Party on a Bike” at Madison Improvement Club in Tempe. It’s not your traditional spin class. The Party on a Bike class includes wild, high-adrenaline music, disco lights, and glow sticks. Classes even feature a state of the art sound system, DJ booth and laser shows.

Think of it as a spin studio-turned night club. The high intensity workout will not only get your heart rate up, but will make you feel like you just spent 50 minutes at a dance party.

    The Tempe studio offers a grab-and-go s.e.e.d.

    Spin and Yoga Studio
Yogis and Spinsters rejoice! The newest, coolest fitness club in Phoenix has finally opened its über hip doors. The Madison Improvement Club is here―and here to stay. Owner Andrew Varela, a Phoenix native who grew up in Arcadia, hand-picked a rockstar-roster of teachers who know how to get the workout party started: Gina Marciano, Anton Mackey, Jenn Chiarelli and Alex Austin, to name a few.

I downward dogged and detoxed my weekend away in Max Cohen’s Sunday morning class, lovin’ every minute of his banter and beats. The class was wall-to-wall packed and the energy infectious. No wonder there was a little more spring to my standing splits and a little more chutzpah to my chaturangas (thanks Max!).

Rather than running off after class, I filled my tank at Seed, the on-site café that serves up deliciously healthy fare from homemade energy bars

    Phenomenal Flow Class

The Madison Improvement Club’s modern spin on yoga classes are just what we need here in the Valley.

Open since mid 2012, Madison Improvement Club (MIC) offers yoga and spinning classes, and also a healthy café members can hit up before or after their workout for a smoothie, a wrap, or even some breakfast, if you like to get your yoga or spinning out of the way first thing in the a.m.

A yoga class at MIC is a bit different than classes in a studio-type environment. Even though MIC isn’t a “hot yoga” studio, the yoga room is heated – not super hot – but definitely comfortable enough that you’re not immediately suffocated by Phoenix-in-July hot air when you walk into the room.

MIC offers two types of yoga classes: the All Levels Flow (which is recommended for any level of yogi) and the Phenomenal Flow (a bit more of a challenge but still good
